Rev. Harold B. Dawson, Jr.
Harold B. Dawson, Jr. was born in Peoria, IL on August 5, 1970. This was the same year that his parents, Harold Sr. and Mattie Dawson, organized and established New Hope Deliverance Church. This would be the place where he would receive his spiritual foundation. Thirty-one years later, in June 2001, Harold B. Dawson, Jr., by then a licensed and ordained minister, was installed as Pastor of New Hope International Ministries. He works diligently in the service of the Lord with his wife, Lady Lori Dawson. Pastor Dawson has utilized the innate spiritual impartations of the prophetic from his mother and the apostolic from his father to create an explosive mix that allowed New Hope International Ministries to experience measurable success. Under the leadership of this great visionary, New Hope realized an even greater commitment to the community through the establishment of the Greater New Hope Development Corporation. Under this community development corporation, N-HIM has established Lifeline Connection Advocacy Center, an agency that advocates on behalf of at risk families with the objective of keeping the family unit intact. In keeping with his commitment to families, Pastor Dawson spearheaded a program entitled “Focus on the Father,” that focuses on equipping and preparing fathers to fulfill the God-ordained roles that they have assumed.
Pastor Dawson has always exhibited a true commitment to his community. He has served on Morehouse School of Medicine’s Imani Project Board (Atlanta, GA) which was organized to bring positive change in the area of HIV/AIDS in the African-American community. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Peoria Chapter of the NAACP, PMEDO (Peoria Ministers Economic Development Organization), Catholic Charities PCAP (Peoria Community Area Project), Illinois One Family One Child Board of Directors, along with several other community commitments. In 2010, Pastor Dawson was appointed President of the Peoria Christian Leadership Council (P.C.L.C.). Comprised of a collaboration of pastors, the P.C.L.C. was established to address the social-economic and political concerns within the Central Illinois region, with the goal of bettering the community. He also serves as a Commissioner on the Board of the Wayne A. Downing Metropolitan Airport Authority.
In July of 2012, God led Pastor Dawson to organize and found New Life Christian Church (N.L.C.C.) in Peoria, IL. God is using Pastor Dawson to breathe “new life” into a region that very definitely still has the hand of God upon it!
Pastor Dawson matriculated through Jackson State University, earning a Bachelor of Administration in Marketing. He attended the distinguished Harvard Divinity School for the Summer Leadership Institute in 2004. In pursuit of his goal of being a lifelong learner, Pastor Dawson is completing a Master of Theology degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary (Lincoln, IL).
Pastor Dawson resides in Peoria, IL with his wife Lori and their three children Harold III, Haven and Harrington.
Pastor Harold B. Dawson, Jr.’s gift of ministry has been heard not only across the U.S. but also across the nation of South Africa, as well as parts of the Caribbean. . He is definitely an anointed man of God for this generation, whose gift crosses denominational, cultural, socioeconomic and spiritual boundaries.
